USPS warns users to be careful with QR codes

12 August 2026 · Source: USPS

USPS has issued a warning telling people to stop and think before scanning QR codes. The notice points to the risk of QR code scams, sometimes called quishing, where a code can lead someone to a harmful website or other fraudulent content. For businesses, this matters because a single scan can expose staff to phishing, malware, or fake payment pages that look legitimate. Sender Registry helps companies spot suspicious messages and links before employees act on them, reducing the chance of fraud reaching inboxes and internal systems.

How Sender Registry helps

Forward an email with a QR code and Sender Registry decodes it and checks where it really leads, before anyone scans it.
