Why Sender Registry exists.

Dear reader,

I want to tell you why Sender Registry exists, because it did not start as a business plan. It started with my own family.

A few years ago, I watched people I love, people who worked hard their whole lives and trusted easily, get fooled by emails designed to look exactly like the real thing. A message that looked like it came from their bank. A parcel delivery that was never coming. A tax refund that was never real. Each time, the damage was not just financial. It was the confusion and the quiet embarrassment afterwards, the feeling of having been caught out by something they had no real way of checking.

I have spent close to thirty years building software and software companies. Watching my own relatives go through this, I kept asking myself the same question: why is there no simple, honest way for an ordinary person to check whether an email is genuine before it does any harm? So I set out to build one, with my own family in mind first. That is the real reason a free version of Sender Registry exists today, and always will. It was built for people like them.

The more I worked on it, the more I kept discovering new ways this same idea could help. Conversations with business colleagues over many months turned into new features, then new use cases entirely. I began to see how the exact same network intelligence protecting an individual from a fake delivery text could also protect a finance team from a fraudulent invoice, or a whole business from a costly impersonation attempt. What started as a way to protect my own family slowly grew into something that could genuinely save businesses thousands of pounds, or dollars, in fraud that never needed to happen.

Sender Registry has been a genuine passion project from day one, built slowly and carefully, shaped by real conversations rather than a boardroom brief. I am proud of what it has become, but I have never lost sight of why it started.
