Singapore probes 280 people in scam cases

8 October 2026 · Source: straitstimes.com

Singapore police are investigating 280 people, aged 15 to 81, over suspected roles in scams linked to nearly $4.4 million in losses. The cases are said to involve more than 633 incidents, including e commerce fraud, phishing, job scams, impersonation, investment scams and lucky draw scams. For businesses, this shows how many scam types can overlap with email based fraud, fake payment requests and impersonation attempts. Sender Registry helps companies spot suspicious senders and reduce the chance that staff will trust a message that could lead to fraud, stolen credentials or financial loss.
