Hong Kong police warn of fake traffic ticket sites

6 October 2026 · Source: info.gov.hk

Hong Kong police have warned the public about fraudulent websites posing as the eTraffic Ticket Platform. The fake sites claim early payment discounts are available and try to collect credit card details and personal information. Police said the real platform does not offer discounts, official SMS tickets use the sender name #HKPF-eTT, and genuine messages do not include links. For businesses, this is a reminder that phishing often uses trusted brands and urgent payment themes to steal data. Sender Registry helps teams check sender identity and spot suspicious messages before staff click links, enter details, or pay a fake invoice or fine.

How Sender Registry helps

Impersonation Radar watches certificate logs for lookalike domains the moment they are registered, so a fake is caught before it is ever used against you.
