Fake government aid QR codes spread on social media

24 September 2026 · Source: thestar.com.my

Reports say scammers are sharing convincing looking social media posters that claim to offer government aid and include QR codes. The fake posts use names such as eKasih, eMADANI and maternity assistance, along with official looking logos and images, to push people to scan codes or click links that lead to fraudulent sites. This matters because a business can lose money or data when staff or customers are tricked by QR based scams that imitate trusted organisations. Sender Registry helps by checking sender identity and spotting suspicious messages, links and impersonation attempts before people act on them.

How Sender Registry helps
